Melissa graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2007 with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. After graduation, she worked in inpatient acute rehabilitation at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs working with patients who sustained traumatic brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and other complex, neurological conditions. In 2011, Melissa moved to Summit County. She is the lead occupational therapist at St. Anthony Summit Hospital and works in an outpatient clinic at Vail Summit Physical Therapy specializing in concussions, traumatic and acquired brain injuries. She has facilitated the Summit County Brain Injury Support Group since 2014 and has organized yearly educational conferences for medical providers in Summit County. Melissa has had the honor of working with a wide variety of people who have been affected by concussion from children, student-athletes, professional athletes, working professionals, parents, military/first responders, and older adults.
